 One Wilshire is one of the major telecommunication hubs of the West Coast. the One Wilshire Building is located in the center of a developing “telecommunications district” of Southern California. With virtually all of the surrounding buildings connected to One Wilshire via underground street conduit, the building provides a nexus of international fiber networks converging the Pacific Bell tandom switching with undersea cable networks and transcontinental transmission resources.
One Wilshire employs an onsite security team for 24/7 survalence using integrated closed circuit television and card access systems. Monitoring extends to the automated fire proection and life safety system. One Wilshire is served by The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (DWP), which is one of the most reliable sources of power distribution. One Wilshire is wired using four 3,750 kVA, 480V transformers and one 5,000 kVA, 4160V transformer. There are four 2,000KW generators and one 470KW generator to provide backup power in case of DWP service problems.
